![]() The Maternity Foundation works to reduce maternal and newborn mortality in LMICs by empowering skilled birth attendants (SBAs) to provide a safer birth for mothers and newborns everywhere. Their main digital focus has been the creation and dissemination of the Safe Delivery App. Over a period of six months, Kati Collective worked with the Maternity Foundation to facilitate the foundation’s transition into becoming a more robust, scaled, and sustainable capacity-building program for SBAs, including helping staff and leadership to develop solutions so they would feel committed to the results.
As the Maternity Foundation partners with governments, philanthropy, NGOs, and multilaterals, this project was an opportunity for Kati to delve more deeply into the digital for MNCH ecosystem. The resulting sustainability plan will help the Foundation grow and create a durable, widespread program to support more women in more countries. |
“Kirsten Gagnaire has unparalleled experience in the emerging field of digital for maternal and newborn health space. She was instrumental in helping our organization understand, on a deeper level, the key stakeholders in the field. Kirsten possesses the unique ability to distill her experience and knowledge into concrete recommendations—which provided helpful guidance as we developed a sustainability strategy.”

![]() Kati Collective partnered with the Vaccine Delivery team at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to support their role in the digital health ecosystem and collaborate with key stakeholders on developing a Country Readiness Assessment Tool for an Electronic Immunization Registry (EIR) implementation. We conducted a landscape analysis of existing digital health assessment tools, facilitated a workshop of key stakeholders (WHO, PAHO, ERO, CDC, GAVI, UNICEF, PATH, BMGF) to align on the assessment tool criteria and early implementation strategy, and are providing ongoing support for finalization, testing, and early implementation.
In parallel, we engaged with the Vaccine Delivery team’s newly revised digital strategy to provide thought partnership on strategy refinement and actionability in the areas of an innovative digital health marketplace, country readiness, and ecosystem alignment. Kati is creating a framework for a marketplace development process with a three-year development and implementation timeline to include key investment points in the process. |
“We selected Kati Collective as we worked through our immunization digital strategy to help us articulate and focus our framework, and as our work evolved, Kati has been able to take own new roles supporting critical Gavi Alliance partners, such as CDC, to provide critical thinking and linkages between immunization-specific needs to broader digital health efforts and trends. We value their ability to connect and think within immunization and across the sector as we work to operationalize our strategy.”
